One of the UK’s biggest venture capital funds launches in Yorkshire

A £90m venture capital fund, which aims to help small and medium sized enterprises with a base in Yorkshire, is launched this month.
Finance Yorkshire will be a £90m fund - one of the largest venture capital funds in the UK - will offer between £15,000 and £2m for start-ups and more established businesses.
Around half of the cash for the fund, which will run for four years, will be provided by regional development agency Yorkshire Forward with the remainder coming from the European Regional Development Fund and the European Investment Bank.
The fund, which aims to create 4,000 jobs and help establish 129 businesses, will be made up of three elements - Seedcorn Fund, Small Loans Fund and an Equity Fund.
The funds will provide a significant opportunity for global entrepreneurs to get a hold in the UK market, by basing themselves in Yorkshire.
