Food company 'could bring jobs to Hull'

Hull could soon benefit from more than 100 jobs as a frozen sausage plant looks to move its operations to the area.
Vion Food Group is said to be considering making the move from Shap in Cumbria, with the decision set to be made following a consultation with staff.
"We very much regret the need for these changes in our activities and have informed our employees of our commitment to consult with them," noted Vion director of corporate affairs Alasdair Cox .
He added that the company's commitment to its existing team "has never been in question".
The company is responsible for making supermarket own-brand ranges of sausages, which is an operation sizable enough for the Hull plant to take on board.
Earlier this year, Vion announced Ton Vernaus as its new chief executive officer, who has experience working with Unilever and LeasePlan.
