Freitag, 3 April 2009
Sheffield Hallam University is to host a conference addressing the challenges the hospitality industry faces in the current economic climate.
Organised by the university, the event offers a mix of keynote presentations, panel discussions and workshops.
Headline speaker is Bob Cotton OBE, the chief executive of the British Hospitality Association, the national trade body for hotels, restaurants and caterers.
Other attendees include Gary Verity, the new chief executive of the Yorkshire Tourist Board, and Anne Pierce MBE, chief executive of the Springboard Charitable Trust.
Professor Stephen Ball, of the university's faculty of organisation and management, says the message of the event to hospitality is "all is not lost".
"It will encourage dissemination and discussion of knowledge, ideas and opinions about opportunities related to employment, sustainability and partnerships in the hospitality industry," he explained.
This week, Sheffield Hallam held the It Pays to Teach conference, to encourage more people to join the profession.
