Professional services firm KPMG will be helping the Leeds City Region with its future plans after it was appointed to an advisory role.
The company will advise on the remit, structure and the implementation of investment decision-making.
The Leeds City Region seeks to improve the quality of life for people who live and work in the region by raising the economic output in the area.
It was awarded pilot status by the Government and is made-up of 11 constituent local authorities in a formal partnership.
It hopes to enhance local decision-making in the areas of transport, housing, skills and innovation.
KPMG senior partner Iain Moffatt said: "Playing a role in making our area the best it can be is exciting, so we are delighted to be involved in the Leeds City Region pilot. This pioneering partnership stands to benefit the area through integrated, local decision-making in some key spending areas.
"As well as advising the board of the Leeds City Region in its embryonic stage, I look forward to helping to achieve tangible connectivity between public and private sector organisations, which is sure to prove invaluable in maximising the potential impact of the initiative."
