Dienstag, 11 November 2008
A nursery and clothing retailer originally based in Yorkshire is expanding into Singapore and Hong Kong.
Mamas & Papas has signed an agreement with ImaginAsia to open 12 stores over a five-year period in the two areas.
The Huddersfield-based firm now operates in 30 countries, while ImaginAsia was founded in 2006 and distributes international brands throughout Asia.
"ImaginAsia is similar to Mamas & Papas in that it is part of a successful family owned business that strives to achieve the same values," stated Richard Faulkner, Mamas & Papas deputy chief executive.
He noted that the deal with the Asian company had opened a door into an "important part of the world".
Meanwhile, Ann Leong, chief executive officer of the ImaginAsia Group, said that an opportunity currently exists for the designer nursery market in Singapore and Hong Kong.
The Yorkshire-based body is committed to make sure its products have the smallest possible adverse effect on the environment, while also ensuring the safety of its work.
