Pair vie for Venturefest investment

Two Yorkshire businessmen are to come before a panel of investors in a bid to secure £750,000 in funding to trial a new healthcare monitoring product.
Graham Priestley and his nephew Alan Bell, both from Halifax, will present their idea at the Venturefest competition, which aims to increase the profile of local businesses.
The pair, representing iMonsys, along with seven other business are all vying for a prize package worth more than £28,000.
The product - codenamed Verity - is a mobile monitoring system that records changes in heart rate, activity levels and body temperature. It is connected to a voice activated device which will clarify a patient's situation and whether they require help.
The entrepreneurs claim it will reduce unnecessary emergency calls and give carers peace of mind.
Mr Bell said: "We don't believe there is another real time mobile monitoring system on the market that covers as wide a range of people, applications and conditions in a single solution as Verity."
The Venturefest Yorkshire Investment Competition at York Race Course on February 10th is organised by Connect Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Association of Business Angels, sponsored by Shepherd Group.
