An East Yorkshire business woman who runs a specialist natural perfumery is hoping to secure deals with top retailers thanks to her new eco-friendly packaging.
Isabelle Gelle runs an online business selling her perfume range which she launched in 2007 as Les Parfums d'Isabelle.
She is hoping to attract the attention of exclusive retailers such as Selfridges and has unveiled a collection of new packaging to achieve this.
The perfumes will be sold in 30ml reusable glass bottles and will be placed in boxes filled with wildflower seeds.
The boxes will contain instructions on how to grow the flowers which will include: Bird's Eye, Black-Eyed Susan, Snap Dragon, Black Orchid and Poppy. The innovative packaging is based on a patented technology from Canada.
Ms Gelle said: "What can be more eco-friendly and ethical than a package intended to go back in the earth and not based on cutting trees and destroying forests.
"I have no doubt that the UK will join this sustainable packaging trend soon."
Currently the boxes are imported from the US as Ms Gelle could not find any company producing them in the UK or Europe.
She said: "We hope some printing company will realise the strong interest of offering this product so that we reduce our carbon footprint even more by purchasing them locally."
